Friedrich Naumann Foundation Baltic States

The main focus of our work is strengthening security and defense policy cooperation between the Baltic States and Germany - while involving all EU and NATO member states in the Baltic Sea region. In connection with the permanent stationing of a German Bundeswehr brigade in Lithuania, the foundation supports networking between civil society, the military, and political actors. A second focus lies on exchange related to innovation and digital transformation.

Since the restoration of independence in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, the foundation has been active in the Baltic States—since 2025 with its “Freedom Center” in Vilnius.
