Association of Germans in Klaipeda

The Association of Germans in Klaipėda unites the inhabitants of the Memel region. The association currently has over 300 members. The association organises various cultural events and German courses. The association choir rehearses and gives concerts here and the youth group meets here. Business meetings and friendship evenings with representatives of various nationalities also take place in the Simon Dach House. There are close links with the Hermann-Sudermann-Gymnasium, where the association's traditional Easter and Christmas parties are held. The German Culture Days are an important event both in the life of the association and in the city of Klaipeda, providing a deeper insight into modern German culture, the history of East Prussia and the activities of the association.
