The Lithuanian Association of German Language Teachers unites 130 members throughout the country. Anyone interested in German can become a member. Every year the association organizes an annual conference for teachers, seminars and trainings. International and national competitions are organized for students. The most important are the Baltic German Language Olympiad and the German Song Festival. Twice a year, the association publishes the methodological magazine Miteinander (in electronic and paper formats). The association is a member of the Internationaler Deutschlehrer- und Deutschlehrerinnenverband, and works closely with the Baltic German language teachers' associations, the Goethe-Institut, the Deutsche Auslandsgesellschaft, German teaching aid publishers and other German-language institutions. Every year, the association organizes and participates in international projects aimed at popularizing the German language and broadening the general horizons of teachers, lecturers, pupils and students.
